Each piece is thrown by hand, glazed in the studio, and fired one at a time. No two are exactly alike — and that's the whole point.
Kian is an artist and psychotherapist whose creative practice began in early childhood. Trained in pen-and-ink, watercolor, painting, silversmithing, and furniture rehab, that art history has long woven pottery into the work, now centered in a small studio by the coast in Florida, where the ocean light finds its way into the glazes.
As a trauma-focused psychotherapist, Kian uses clay as a meditative medium to cultivate a flow state of mind, internal creativity transforming mud into expressive forms. Currently, Kian maintains a small studio, at times working one-on-one with students and clay, with psychotherapy practice now part time. The focus is on producing unique, limited-production pieces while continually experimenting with new techniques and ideas.
Every piece, including mugs, bowls, dishware, jewelry holders, luminaries, and other special hand-painted items, comes out of that same unhurried process. Made by hand. Meant for yours.
Every piece follows the same unhurried path — from a raw block of clay to something ready for your table.
Every piece starts as a raw block of stoneware, wedged by hand until it's ready for the wheel.
Clay is centered and pulled on the wheel entirely by hand. No molds, no shortcuts.
Each piece dries slowly to leather hard, then gets trimmed and finished at the foot.
A cone 6 firing at 2,232°F transforms raw clay into something permanent and food safe.
Glazed, inspected, and ready for your table. Every piece is food safe, dishwasher safe, and made to be used every single day.
The ramen bowl set is absolutely beautiful. The way the glazes blend together is incredible. The chopstick holders are such a nice touch too. Everything about it feels special.
I special ordered a mug and now it's the only one I reach for every morning. The glaze has so much depth, it looks different depending on the light, and it holds heat beautifully. You can tell it's made with care.
Bought a ring holder as a gift and ended up wanting one for myself too. It's beautiful enough to sit out on display, but it's also just genuinely useful every single day. Already thinking about a custom order next.
